Poynings Parish Council is currently in discussions with WSCC and the Number 17 bus company to explore ways to improve the bus service to Poynings. Proposals include upgrading the bus stop, installing a post and base on the opposite side of the road, and clearing the tree that currently obstructs the view when approaching from the Henfield direction. We are hopeful that these improvements can be achieved.
In addition, we have asked whether the route could be extended to the church to allow the bus to turn around and stop at the bus stop by the car park. As the route was previously reduced at Partridge Green because it was considered too long, we appreciate that this request may be challenging. However, it was agreed that evidence of local demand would strengthen our case.
