POYNINGS: PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY NO. 13P (Part)

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the provisions of Section 14 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the use of:

POYNINGS: PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY NO. 13P as shown on the map below.

The path closure is necessary to protect public safety whilst surfacing works are undertaken

Use is temporarily prohibited with effect from 1st September 2015.

Unfortunately there are no alternative routes available using the public rights of way network.

This Notice will be effective for 21 days from the date given above and will be followed by a further closure.

Edburton Church

Dear All

Throughout the year we have continually been raising money for our lovely church via the regular Sales at the Book Nook, and more recently at the very wet Fulking Fair. We are now writing to tell you about our forthcoming events and activities

We are holding an OLD TIME MUSIC HALL Singalong in the church on Friday 2nd October at 7.30pm.

The singing will be led by The Pyecombe Village Choir and tickets, priced at £10, include supper of Bangers, Beans and Baked Potatoes and a welcome drink. Numbers will be limited.

On Sunday 18th October we will be holding our Annual Picnic following on from the Harvest Festival Service. Knapsacks of food are distributed which can be eaten in the church – or outside if the weather is fine. Now in its fourth year this is always a happy occasion and gives us time to enjoy the special atmosphere of St Andrew’s. Lunches are £6.50 and must be ordered in advance.

Friday 27th November is the date of our Annual Quiz which will again be held at Preston Nomads’ Cricket Pavilion. Often a sellout, so early booking is advised. Tickets are £7.50 per person and include our famous Ploughman’s Platter. Teams to consist of a maximum of four people.

Our Carol Service is provisionally planned for Sunday 20th December at 6.00pm and as usual we will be serving mulled wine and mince pies.

AND LAST…….

but not LEAST……..

We are producing a limited edition calendar for 2016 using some of Graham’s lovely drawings. It is A4 in size with a spiral top and central hanger. There is a month to view with plenty of room for writing down engagements. They should be available from the beginning of October when we hope all details, including selling outlets, will be on the benefice website – www.downlandchurches.co.uk. We estimate they will be about £5 each.

St. John the Evangelist church, Newtimber, will be having a CONCERT on Saturday October 17th. 7 pm

“TRADITIONAL SONGS OF THE SUSSEX DOWNS AND COAST”
by Chris Hare and his group of singers.

The cost of tickets will be £10 for adults, £5 for children under 18, which will include a drink during the interval.

We will be using the Pilgrim Course which is based on our baptismal promises – this first series of 6 meetings is entitled ‘Turning to Christ’. Please note the dates in your diary – meetings will as before be held in both the afternoon and evening. Fliers available soon with more details. Lively discussion of some key issues is anticipated! At the Rectory.
    • A further course will run later in the Autumn for the Deanery led by Caroline to which all are welcome. This will cover different types of Christian Spirituality, and has been written by The University of Chichester with the Diocese. Look out for details, and how to book
